A 1900 border-country boomtown that once had a bank, hotel, and its own railroad, Molson collapsed with the wheat and mining economy, leaving Old Molson as one of Washington's best outdoor ghost-town museums. Volunteer-maintained original buildings, machinery, and the three-story brick schoolhouse museum are open to visitors seasonally, free with donations welcome. Access is fully legal up paved and gravel roads from Oroville near the Canadian line; winters are harsh and services nonexistent, but hazards are otherwise minimal.
