Railroad-era ghost town just off I-90 exit 183 in Jones County, born as a Milwaukee Road camp in 1906 and bled dry after the trains and then the interstate traffic passed it by; its last gasp was a roadside reptile attraction that closed in the 2000s. A handful of weathered false-front buildings, grain elevators, and the empty 'Ghost Town' souvenir stop still lean along the frontage road, easily photographed from public right-of-way. The remaining structures are privately owned and severely decayed — floors and porches are collapsing, so shoot from outside. A classic five-minute prairie detour rather than a destination.
