A Mormon cotton-mission settlement of 1859 on the Virgin River near Zion, repeatedly flooded out and finally abandoned in the 1940s; its adobe schoolhouse/church and farmhouse ruins starred in 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.' The Grafton Heritage Partnership maintains the site, which is free and open year-round via a short graded dirt road from Rockville. One of the most photogenic and lowest-risk ghost towns in the West — just mind the river and summer heat.
