A once-bustling railroad division point in West Texas, Toyah withered after the trains stopped, leaving its landmark 1912 brick high school — now partially collapsed — plus an abandoned bank and church among occupied homes. Around 60-90 people still live here, so this is a semi-ghost town viewable legally from public streets; the ruins themselves sit on private land. The school is actively falling in on itself — photograph from outside, and watch for rattlesnakes and unstable walls.
