Nike Missile Site HM-69

MilitaryEasy difficulty● Green hazardFlorida

Built in the Everglades after the Cuban Missile Crisis, Nike Hercules site HM-69 guarded Miami's skies until 1979 and retains its missile barns, barracks, guard dog kennels, and a restored Nike missile. It sits inside Everglades National Park, which opens it via ranger-guided and self-guided tours during the winter dry season. Access is completely legal and managed; bring water, sun protection, and mosquito defense in shoulder months.
