An 1897 gold-milling camp preserved in 'arrested decay' inside Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park, which also shelters North America's largest known ichthyosaur fossils in a covered quarry. The park is open year-round with a fee, interpretive trail past the mill and cabins, and ranger-led fossil-house tours in season. Access is via ~20 miles of partly gravel road from NV-361 near Gabbs — fine for most vehicles — making this the safest possible way to see a genuine mining ghost town.
