Goldfield

OtherEasy difficulty● Green hazardNevada

Nevada's biggest boomtown circa 1906 (population ~20,000), now a living semi-ghost town of a couple hundred residents on US-95 between Tonopah and Las Vegas. The 1907 Goldfield Hotel, high school, and Esmeralda County Courthouse (still in use) anchor a walkable historic district; the hotel and several ruins are viewable only from the street, while the historical society runs tours and events. Legal, easy, and services exist in town — just don't enter posted private buildings.
