A coal camp (1910-1955) up Sego Canyon north of Thompson Springs, listed on the National Register in 2017; the stone company store, boarding-house ruins, and dugouts remain, with famous Barrier Canyon-style rock art panels at the canyon mouth. The dirt road past the BLM rock-art site is usually passable by carefully driven cars but washes out after storms — high clearance is safer. Keep out of the crumbling masonry and away from mine openings; an underground coal-seam fire has smoldered here for decades.
