The Li'l Abner-themed Ozarks amusement park operated from 1968 to 1993, and its decaying trout ponds, rides, and hillbilly buildings drew explorers for decades. Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris bought the 400-acre property in 2020 and is transforming it into the Marble Falls nature park, with cleanup and demolition of park remnants steadily erasing the ruins. The land is private, gated, and actively worked; trespassers are turned away, so the era of wandering Dogpatch is effectively closed.
