Cincinnati Abandoned Subway

TunnelHard difficulty● Red hazardOhio

America's largest abandoned subway: roughly two miles of never-used tunnels and stations under Central Parkway, built 1920-1925 before funding collapsed, complete with ghost platforms at Race, Liberty, Linn, and Brighton. The city maintains the tunnels (a water main runs through them) and keeps portals welded and monitored; the once-popular official Museum Center tours have not run regularly for years, so as of 2025-2026 there is no reliable legal way in. Unauthorized entry means confined dark tunnels beneath live traffic with few exits, plus certain trespassing charges — this one is best appreciated through the sealed Hopple Street portal visible from I-75.
