George Pullman's 1880s planned industrial town on Chicago's far South Side, site of the 1894 Pullman Strike, became a National Monument in 2015 and was redesignated Pullman National Historical Park in 2022. The restored Administration Clock Tower building houses an NPS visitor center opened in 2021, surrounded by occupied historic rowhouses, the Hotel Florence, and factory remnants. This is a fully legal, free public site with ranger programs — a heritage destination, not a ruin. Standard city-neighborhood awareness is the only caution.
