A hamlet dating to the 1760s that was emptied by the 1960s when the Palisades Interstate Park Commission bought out its residents; the last buildings were razed, leaving roads, stone foundations, staircases, and cemeteries in the woods above Iona Island. It sits entirely within Bear Mountain State Park and is a legal, signposted hike via the 1777 trails off Route 9W, with markers identifying former homesteads. Hazards are natural rather than structural: timber rattlesnakes and copperheads are genuinely common here, and ticks are abundant.
