A Wild West theme park that entertained Adirondack tourists from 1952 until 1998, then rotted picturesquely off I-87 Exit 29 for two decades. In 2019 New York State opened the Frontier Town Campground, Equestrian & Day Use Area on the core of the property, clearing or renovating most park structures. Scattered remnants — the church, rodeo grandstands, and cabin ruins — still molder in the woods and across the Schroon River outside the developed footprint. The campground itself is fully legal; poking into the surviving ruins means soft floors, nails, and ambiguity about property lines.
