An 18-acre Bible-themed park on Pine Hill built by lawyer John Baptist Greco in the 1950s, closed in 1984, and left to decay into one of New England's eeriest attractions — miniature Jerusalem crumbling under a hillside cross. Purchased in 2013 by Waterbury's mayor and a local car dealer, it reopened to the public in September 2014 and volunteer restoration continues, anchored by a 65-foot LED-lit stainless cross visible from I-84. The grounds are open free during daylight hours. Paths are uneven and some plaster ruins are still collapsing, so look rather than climb.
